“PACK 311 AND THE TRAIL OF INDIANA JONES”

THE TEMPLE OF DOOM

THE OBSTACLE COURSE:

1. Participants must first cross a SMOKING BALANCE BEAM over a “lava field” (stage smoke emanating from under a wooden board that lies across a bed of foam rocks).
2. Participants must next cross a ROPE BRIDGE (the “monkey bridge” that will later be used by the Pack for Webelos bridging).
3. Finally, behind a blind (that prevents the rest of the group from seeing where the Scouts are going), participants must FIND THE CORRECT WAY DOWN A PATH of flat “stone letters” (actually wooden letters painted to look like stone and covered with leaves and dirt). If they step on the wrong letter, they get blasted with an air horn and are instructed to start over. Of course, the correct path -- as is hinted on this sign at the start of the path-- spells out “D-O Y-O-U-R B-E-S-T" (click anywhere on the image below for the full-size version):

When all the Scouts have finished the obstacle course, their team leader reveals
