DUTCH OVEN COOKING

When the Scouts are called to lunch, they find there are eight BSA Dutch ovens waiting for them...

Each color group is now instructed to make two Dutch oven desserts, which will cook while they eat lunch:

EASY COBBLER

INGREDIENTS:

Duncan Hines yellow or white cake mix (1 box per oven)
Cinnamon
Brown sugar
Sliced peaches/pineapples/apple pie filling (2 16-oz. cans per oven)
Butter

HOW TO MAKE:

Pour your choice of fruit or pie filling in the Dutch oven (if using fruit, add brown sugar and cinnamon)
Dump the DRY cake mix over the fruit. DO NOT MIX.
Put a few cubes of butter on the dry mix.
Cover and place Dutch oven in the hot coals. Put a few hot coals on top of the oven (stack multiple pots).
Cook 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Serve with vanilla ice cream
