“PACK 311 AND THE SEARCH FOR
JACK SPARROW'S TREASURE”
THE ADVENTURE BEGINS
After the Saturday morning breakfast, while everyone is still in the lodge, four British Royal Navy men enter (actually, pack parents in costume). They are Commodore Norrington and his soldiers:
Norrington and his men mingle with the Scouts -- looking for the pirate Jack Sparrow.
They hand each and every Scout a "wanted" poster:
Have any of them seen him? They suspect a few of the boys might be pirates... this goes on
for a little while
until Norrington announces the only way he can
know for sure that there are no pirates or pirate sympathizers in Port Josepho
is to have them participate in a flag ceremony and pledge allegiance to the King of England.
The Scouts are lined up by rank and marched out to the parade grounds.
On the parade grounds, everyone faces the flagpole (the bottom of which is blocked by a WWII memorial).
The soldiers have their backs to the pole because they are, as Norrington commands,
"facing England." As they stand at attention, the Cubmaster raises the first flag behind them:
